Biography
"Just
want to say thanks again, dear lady, for the grand gifts I
have received from you through our counseling. I often thank
God for you."
—A mother in DC

Naomi Aldort, PhD is a parenting/family counselor who works with parents and educators internationally by phone, in family intensive retreats, and in parenting workshops. She is an inspiring public speaker and an internationally published writer. Some of her speaking is available on tapes, and a few of her articles can be found on this site.
Naomi does not teach parents how to "get kids to be/do..." but rather how to be with children so that they are free to be their own magnificent selves. Parents say that what they get out of Naomi's work is much more than help in parenting - they get self-realization, which frees them to see the child with clarity and wisdom.

Naomi Aldort's articles can be found in Mothering
magazine, Byron Child magazine (Australia), The Journal
for Family Living, Taking Children Seriously (UK), Life Learning
magazine (Canada), The Nurturing Parent magazine, Mother
Tongue, Growing Without Schooling, Gentle Spirit, Hand in
Hand, the magazine of Attachment Parenting International. Her
writing is also included in McGraw Hill University text book "A
Child's World,” and some of her articles have been translations
to Japanese, Dutch, German and Spanish.
Naomi is married and the mother of three young people who have never been to school and are flourishing. You can see and hear two of Naomi's sons: www.OliverAldort.com and www.LennonAldort.com. Naomi is not opposed to other forms of education and supports parents in the many viable ways they choose to provide fortheir children's growth from infancy to adulthood.
